About Reina Turner, MFT

Hi! I’m Reina.

Hi! I’m Reina and I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m also a Bay Area native, a lover of cats, and mom to a sweet little boy.

The biggest thing I want you to learn in therapy is that YOUR FEELINGS ARE VALID. One of my strengths as a therapist is teaching my clients that they have every right to feel how they feel. If this is hard for you that’s OK, we’ll tackle that together.

I work with fierce women, mothers, and teens who feel anxious and stressed out when it comes to their relationships, are easily overwhelmed, and often feel like they’re not good enough.

For new and expecting mothers this may look like:

  • Worry around what to expect as a new parent
  • Concerns that you will repeat the same mistakes your parents did
  • Anxiety around losing sleep
  • Uncertainty around what life will look like with your partner after baby arrives
  • Sadness around family of origin issues such as estrangement, loss, or absence

For women this might look like someone who:

  • Constantly worries
  • Compares themselves to others
  • Is afraid of “messing up” in their relationship because they’ve been hurt in the past
  • Constantly worries about how others feel but puts their own feelings to the side
  • Puts a lot of blame on themselves
  • Becomes easily overwhelmed when managing daily life tasks
  • Feels like they are not good enough
  • Curiosity about next steps in life such as marriage and having a baby

For teen girls this might mean they are:

  • Having increased conflict with friends
  • Struggling to make connections at school
  • Distancing themselves from friends and family
  • Nervous to go to school
  • Easily overwhelmed
  • Struggle to balance academic and social life

My goal is to guide successful, independent, take charge kind of women from intense self doubt and anxiety to confidence and satisfaction in their relationships.

How I can help

First and foremost, I want to hear your story. I believe that every person has the right to be seen and heard and I believe that one of the keys to healing is understanding the root of the pain. I draw from various areas of psychotherapy like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness, but I believe my greatest tool is myself. I’m someone that is very curious about what makes people tick and I want to explore that with you. My goal is to help you understand the root cause of your anxiety and develop the tools you need to manage and thrive in your daily life.

I’m authentic, I’m human, and I’m not afraid to laugh or cry with you. I’m right by your side, every step of the way.

If you’re ready to shed your unhealthy behavior patterns and gain deeper insight into yourself contact me today. I can’t wait to talk to you!
